JHS falls in shootout after delay
Jemison lost 55-34 in a region game against Central Tuscaloosa that was delayed early on due to lightning, which rolled through the area right around kickoff.
The game eventually resumed and the offenses wasted no time moving the ball up and down the field.
The first half turned into a track meet with both teams seemingly answering an opponent score with one of their own.
However, the Panthers were eventually unable to keep up with the high-score pace and Central Tuscaloosa opened up a 40-20 lead at the halftime break.
Eric Evans ran for a pair of touchdowns, while Daniel Martin threw his second touchdown pass of the season on a beautifully placed ball to A.J. Jackson in the corner of the end zone.
The Jemison Blue Regiment Band put on quite a halftime show and entertained the home crowd, the majority of which braved the weather early in the night to support the Panthers.
The offenses continued to move the ball in the second half and Jemison fell despite scoring over 30 points.
