With an 8-all tie in Set 1, a seven-point run by Fayetteville put the Rebels in a deep deficit.

With the score at 16-9 in favor of the Wolves, Sabrina Ellison started the Rebels’ comeback by leading a four-point run by Thorsby to bring the score to 16-14.

The two teams exchanged serving sets before Bianca Collins led the next Thorsby run to tie the game at 18-all.

Serving sets swapped twice more before Zakeya Robinson took over serving for the Rebels, leading a four-point Rebels run to bring the score to 24-21.

The Wolves battled back to tie the game at 24-all, but back-to-back kills by Ellison gave Thorsby the win in Set 1.

Set 2 went much differently as the Rebels jumped out to an early 9-3 lead and later extended that lead to 12-5.

The Wolves closed the gap on a five-point run, but the Rebels answered with a four-point run of their own thanks to two aces by Lauren Wyatt to make the score 19-12 in favor of the hosts.

Sydnee Robinson led another run by the Rebels to bring the score to 23-12, and after the two teams exchanged serving sets, Ellison brought the set to a close with an ace.

The third and final set reverted back to the tempo of the first as a battle from start to finish.

Three consecutive aces by Robinson aided in an early 4-2 Rebels lead, but it was short-lived as a four-point Wolves’ run gave Fayetteville a 6-4 advantage.

The Wolves maintained their two-point lead until Collins took over serving for the Rebels and went on to lead a four-point Thorsby run to take a 10-7 lead, but with the score at 12-8 in favor of the Rebels, a four-point Wolves’ run knotted the score at 12-all.

With the game tied at 14-all, a five-point run led by the serving of Wyatt gave the Rebels a 20-14 lead, but once again the Wolves answered with a run to tie the game at 20-all.

The Rebels finally broke the Wolves’ run while handing serving duties to Robinson, who led a four-point Thorsby run and capped the set off with an ace to give the Rebels the set and match win.

Robinson led the Rebels with six kills and three digs while Kaitlyn Lowery added four aces, four digs and four assists for Thorsby.
