Church News for March 3

Christ Independent Methodist Church
Dr. Mac Stinson took his scripture reading from Deuteronomy 26:4-26. His sermon was “Stories of the Bible as Word Pictures.”
His text scripture began with the beautiful story of God’s requirements as related to Moses to be shared with the children of Israel, whom God had brought up out of the land of Egypt.
Our praise report is for the successful recovery BeeBee Sammons has experienced resulting from an automobile accident some years past.
Sunday, Feb. 28 will be our one-dish dinner following the morning worship service.
We invite you to join us for this meal and fellowship.

Rocky Mount United Methodist Church
Sunday was a great day at Rocky Mount and held quite a variety for our folks. During the morning worship, we were treated to a spirited version of “Jesus, Hold My Hand” by our choir. We were glad to hear our alto voices shine and are always captivated by the talents of Troy Benson on the piano.
Andy Cannon, a local Gideon, brought our morning message and shared some of the many ways the Gideons spread the word of Christ and how each of us can help them in this endeavor. We should all be proud to live in an area where we can still openly share the word of God and where the Gideons can still pass out the Bibles.
For our evening worship time we were visited by the group Joel’s Prophecy of Birmingham.
March 6 will be movie night from 6-8 p.m. Come join us, both youth and adults, for a hotdog, some popcorn and a movie.
